2008 Cabernet Sauvignon. Rich, ripe opulent fruit in this Banana Belt Cabernet Sauvignon. Chocolate, baking spice, smoky herbal notes and toast mingle in the glass and on the palate. (0% RS) 260 cases produced.

Our favorite 4 barrels of 2008 Pinot, this unfiltered, unfined wine is sourced all from the Davis vineyard, Dijon clone 115. Earth, sour cherry fruit, and warm oak graces this special Finger Lakes pinot noir.

This 2008 Merlot, while still young, is a fruit-driven medley of juicy cherries, ripe plum, and integrated toast. Grown on the steep slopes of the Damiani vineyard. 225 cases produced.

2008 Cabernet Franc: Medium to full-bodied Cabernet Franc showing a deep ruby color. Beautiful nose, and showing wild berry, tobacco, cocoa powder and an herbal, toasty spice. 12. Vino Rosso NV
Nicely balanced with ripe cherry fruit upfront and on the nose. In this table red a light body and soft mouth feel untie to create a pleasurable, approachable wine. Merlot and cabernet franc blended with the hybrids rougeon, vincent, and foch. 272 Cases produced (.8%RS).
13. 2008 Pinot Noir
This medium-bodied pinot has hints of cherry and plum and has a balanced beginning, middle and finish. Very approachable, this wine represents the fine care and planning of the owners and will age well for 3-5 years. These grapes were hand selected, grown and pampered on the steep slopes of the Davis vineyard. 175 cases produced (0%RS).

A delicate wine made from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc. Lush with a dry touch of strawberry on the finish (0.5 RS).

This nuanced semi-dry Riesling is crisp and racy with overtones of apricot and peach in the mouth, and hints of mineral. Excellent balance and a long finish. (1.5% RS) 88 points, Wine Spectator.
18. 2008 Gewurtztraminer
This dry, delicate wine is pale gold in color and envelopes the nose with a beautiful bouquet of tropical fruit, stone, and rose petal. Soft and warm on the palate with delicate hints of lychee lasting through its exotically-spicy finish. 0.5% R.S, 225 cases produced.

Session Two: April 24. Trellis Work. Time to tie the pruned canes to the trellis, a further expression of the form we created during the pruning of session one. The purpose of form begins to emerge. Hands-on vine tying and a little wine drinking.
